Molossus molossus are our Jamaican, open-space insectivores.

We have a colony of several hundred of these bats living in our roof, between the "zinc" and the old shingles: Walker's Bats of the World" says "it is often found in attics with galvanized roofing, where the temperature may reach 55deg Celsius". Quite so, and having spent some time on the roof fixing our solar panels, it is quite extraordinary that they don't cook up there!
